Questions about the online format of the College Application Workshop?

For those in Central Ohio who wish we had an in-person workshop, we, too, would much prefer to be “back to normal” for a live and in-person event.

However, when we reached the deadline for deciding the format we would use, we were at the mercy of the venue’s gathering restrictions in our state. Because of those restrictions, we decided to continue in an online format this summer because it would give students the small-group, collaborative format we need for that class.

We understand the burnout regarding online classes! We are parents too. However, our class uses an online classroom tool that we have never seen used by a K-12 school district or college in our area. It’s called Adobe Connect for Learning, and we learned about it through the national online K-12 Connections Academy schools.

We did a program for these students a few years back and were blown away by how the platform facilitates engagement with students. When we were forced to an online format last year, we knew THAT was the platform that would give us the most interaction. We know from the input we gathered from last year’s students that they were pleased with the experience.
