At The Core offers several services to help Class of 2025 and their families prepare for the college application season: College Application Workshops and Rising Senior Private Consultations. We wanted to help you understand the difference and decide which would be a better fit for your family.

How to choose? When might you need both?
Some families really need one or the other, and some value using both. It depends on how much and what type of support your family needs. A big part of the decision is how motivated your student is and how well they work independently.
If you think both could be important for your family, we would strongly recommend that you START with a College Application Workshop so your student can get up to speed on tasks and then drill down to what else you need in a Senior Private Consultation.

NEED HELP WITH CAREER-THINKING & CHOOSING A MAJOR?
Your student needs to know their answer to “why am I heading to college?” So much of the college search process ahead hinges on having a confident direction for the field of study and a sense of the first job after college.
Guided Self Assessment is our flagship service helping students identify their strongest personal traits, strengths, challenges, preferences, values and more so they can make better choices.
Our experienced facilitators guide the student through five one-hour, one-on-one casual interviews to draw out this information.
Our team analyzes all their input, making connections, and reasonable conclusions. We report to the family all the findings, including a list of potential careers to explore and a customized set of next steps.
FINISHED APPLYING? TIME TO SEARCH FOR SCHOLARSHIPS!
Every winter, we host Virtual Scholarship Parties for our seniors. We know it is hard to motivate teens to apply for scholarships. We created this fun, live program to teach them how easy it can be! Workshops held in December and January each year.
